Below is the newly proposed Objective that will now cover Climate Change and we would ask for your comments on this. We have included a feedback section to allow you to reply and update us on your thoughts:
To alleviate the impact of climate change, develop renewable energy and encourage efficient waste management.
Research suitable areas for renewable energy schemes (wind / solar) to see if sites can be identified – based on AONB guidance and understanding of requirements for the different technologies. This is likely to require liaison with renewable energy providers and the AONB team.
Research permitted development rights for renewable energy on properties (solar / PV panels), improved glazing etc. Research good practice in sustainable drainage / renewable energy / energy efficient designs, focusing on schemes likely to be in keeping with the character of the area.
Research potential climate change adaptation projects using Natural England’s Climate Change Adaptation Manual
Research current standards on bin stores / recycling facilities and the extent to which these are appropriate in the local area. May be useful to consult with the Dorset Waste Partnership, local builders and occupants of recent housing developments
